## How this chart was built

Every cream in the chart appears in one of our buying guides and has a size stated on its listing. Prices are Amazon listing prices recorded on October 10, 2026. Where a listing states the size in fl oz or oz, we convert at 29.57 ml per fl oz and treat oz on a cream listing as fluid ounces, which is how these jars are usually sized. Price per ml is the listing price divided by the size in ml, rounded to the cent.

Creams whose listings do not state a size are left out, because a price per ml cannot be worked out without it. That excludes the La Prairie creams we track, such as the Skin Caviar Luxe Cream and the Platinum Rare Haute-Rejuvenation Cream. ## What the chart shows

The spread is wide. The top of the chart costs nearly four times as much per ml as the bottom. Most 50 ml flagship jars from Augustinus Bader, Shiseido, Estee Lauder and Dr. Barbara Sturm sit between about $4.80 and $7.20 per ml, with Shiseido's Legendary Enmei Cream and Omorovicza's Blue Diamond Supercream above that band.

Within a brand, the cheapest per ml is often a different size or format of a similar product. Augustinus Bader The Cream is about $6.27 per ml in the 1.7 fl oz jar and about $5.65 per ml in the 100 ml jar. Lancome Absolue The Soft Cream is about $5.75 per ml in the 1.0 oz jar and about $4.09 per ml as a 2.0 oz refill. Lighter formulas in a line are often priced lower too, such as Augustinus Bader The Light Cream at about $3.90 per ml.

## Refills and big jars cut the price per ml

Two patterns show up again and again. First, refills: Lancome sells 2.0 oz refills of The Soft Cream and The Rich Cream at $242 each, about $4.09 per ml, below both the Soft Cream jar and the Rich Cream jar. Shiseido sells the Future Solution LX Total Protective Cream SPF 30 as a 50 ml refill at about $5.52 per ml. ## Price per ml is not the whole story

A lower price per ml is only better value if you would use the cream anyway. Texture, fragrance, whether a cream has SPF, and whether it is meant for day or night all matter more than a dollar per ml. For example, the Lancome Absolue Premium Bx Day Cream includes SPF 15 in its title, so it covers a step that a night cream does not. Compare like with like: day creams with day creams, rich creams with rich creams.

Cost per month is often a more useful number than price per ml. At about 0.4 ml twice a day, you use roughly 24 ml a month.
